BCDCOG Overhauls Five North Charleston Shelters

Transit riders are ready to see their fixer-upper.

The Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments recently installed retrofit kits on five CARTA shelters – dramatically enhancing their curb appeal in the process.

“The kits are a substantial upgrade and will improve the transit experience for our ridership in North Charleston,” said CARTA Board of Directors chairman Mike Seekings.

The five new shelter locations include:

  • Rivers at Eagle Landing Boulevard
  • Northwoods Mall
  • SC Works Charleston
  • Dorchester at Leeds Avenue Rivers
  • Ashley Phosphate Rivers at Durant
