The beautiful thing about the internet is the wealth of information available to us on a daily basis, the bad thing about the internet is the wealth of information available to us on a daily basis. With so much information at our fingertips it can become hard to find the information we need or to even discover new information that could help us within our careers or projects we are working on.
As I wander through the quagmire that is the internet and social media I often come across great articles and information that I feel would be of interest to somebody. Instead of letting it sit in my saved links folder I am going to start pulling together articles that I find on planning, transit and the local region and share them with you to help you discover new places, new ideas and new interests.
To start things off I have a few articles which cover things like Bikeshare programs, the Future of Hazard Mitigation Funding and Civil Rights (ADA) Training Webinars being offered by the FTA.
- Bikeshare programs are starting to become popular and in turn are getting better funding – get more information here: http://blogs.planning.org/policy/2016/01/14/bikeshare-programs-could-start-getting-more-federal-money/
- For information on the future of Hazard Mitigation funding take a look at the APA’s Policy News site here: http://blogs.planning.org/policy/2016/01/11/hazard-mitigation-a-big-winner-in-year-end-budget-deal/
- The FTA will host a series of six webinars on the new ADA Circular for FTA grantees. These hour-long webinars will include useful information on relevant ADA topics, tips and suggestions for compliance and accessible service, and opportunities to ask questions. This webinar will be good for anyone interested in, or working in, Public Transit – for more information go here: http://www.fta.dot.gov/civilrights/12885.html
